Politicians are elected to represent their constituents (that’s the theory anyhow…) – some of which belong to the NRA. So when politicians try to leverage support by demonizing the organization as a big bad wolf, they are in fact attacking their own constituents as the NRA is an organization comprised of people (its members) who reside in communities like yours – not a faceless corporate lobbying machine.
