The Big Event that happened Saturday is Towson University’s main day of community service, in which students help out local homeowners and non-profits.
“We had just over 1,880 volunteers participate in the event at 185 different service sites, with a total estimated economic impact of $150,249,” said Ray Feldmann, a spokesman for TU.
One of the projects was at Cromwell Valley Park.
“They worked on removing invasive plants, tree maintenance, and painting fences,” said Laurie Taylor-Mitchell, coordinator of Weed Warriors program at the park.
