Judging from the comments this post received, this seems to be a major issue. If anyone gets some answers or guidance, please let us know so others get the info.
“We live on Dumbarton, and recently the County fixed our curbs, which includes the drainage from our downspout, underground to the hole in the curb. Right after they finished, and we had our first big rain this past week, we had flooding in our basement. We tested the drainage, by disconnecting our downspout and putting a hose down into the underground drain, and there was no water making its way to the curb. We believe it can’t be a coincidence that our drainage was great, then the curb was fixed, and then our drainage was 100% cut off.
Our basement is a disaster.
Just wanted to maybe send a note to see if anyone else has had this problem? Like I said, I find it very odd that it worked really well, and then all of a sudden our drainage is cut off 100%. We checked again in the rain today, and the inside of the drainage hole in the curb is completely dry.”
