We finally got a chance to try Mezcal, the newish Mexican restaurant and bar in the Yorkridge Shopping Center that’s also home to MOM’s Organic Market and Kohl’s.
We hadn’t made it in before because every time I called to see how long the wait was, it was about an hour, and we’re not down for that. So the other day we were running errands and at about 4:45pm we stopped in to Mezcal. (Not being a resident of Del Boca Vista, eating dinner that early is not a usual occurrence.)
Even at that time on a Friday, the restaurant was almost full. We asked what the odds would be of getting a table if we came back in half an hour and the hostess advised us to get a table while we could. We did, and it was good advice. By 5:00 there were several parties waiting for tables. The man in the booth behind us was telling his dining partners that later in the evening there is often a line out the door.
The food was tasty and the service was good. I wouldn’t say it was groundbreaking, but if you like Mexican food and live in the area, this is definitely a great option. (If you want some really amazing food, try Clavel in Remington.)
