Urgent-care facility will replace Ryan’s Daughter

The rumors are true: An urgent-care clinic will take the place of the recently closed Ryan’s Daughter at Belvedere Square. The Baltimore Business Journal reported Tuesday that ChoiceOne Urgent Care is expected to open this summer.

Angela Diblasi, vice president of the Rosebank Brackenridge Neighborhood Association, said she was “extremely disappointed” that Scott Plank’s War Horse Cities, which owns Belvedere Square, did not take the community’s wishes into account when signing the new tenant.

“A majority of the neighbors say yes, they want a successful business there because they want Belvedere Square to be successful but also be amenable to the community,” she said. “A clinical medical building there just rubbed people the wrong way.”

She said she also wonders if the street will still be blocked off in the summer for the Friday night concerts.

Ryan’s Daughter closed last month after 14 years in business. The nearby Starlite Diner, the latest restaurant in what used to be the Hess shoe store, closed in October.

Neither War Horse Cities nor Belvedere Square management responded to requests for comment.

Oh, no! Just what we need – another urgent care facility. The excellent Paitent’s First is just up York Road. What were they thinking? UGH.
