A message from Capt. Landsman of Baltimore County Police’s 6th Precinct:
Activity at Dulaney Plaza Today – If you happened to be passing by and saw officers from our hazardous devices team across from the mall, there was no threat to the community. A gentleman was in possession of World War II antique. He took the antique to be examined at a local auction company and was advised that the item he had may be some type of military ordnance. He drove to Dulaney Plaza and called us. Our team determined that it was not an ordnance, but a piece to a World War II era gas mask.
Robbery in the 7900 block of Knollwood Road on 3/11 – The victim was confronted by a suspect armed with a knife just before 11 PM. The suspect demanded the victim’s money and his phone and then fled the area towards Garden Road. The suspect was described as a male, 22-24 years old, 5-9, 150lbs, black-hooded sweatshirt and black skinny jeans.
Joppa Road Robberies from 3/10 – An arrest was made in the two commercial robberies in the 1600 block of East Joppa Road (Beav’s Smoke Shop and Lake Shore Learning Center). The suspect was arrested by Towson officers near the Dunkin Donuts after discarding some of the clothing he was wearing during the robberies. He later confessed to robbery detectives regarding his involvement in both cases.
Royal Farm Robbery at 7204 York Road – Our case on 3/10 is not related to the case that ended in the shooting in Woodlawn.
Please do not underestimate the importance of your calls to 911 regarding suspicious activity. Many of the arrests that we make involve some type of assistance from the community. You are our eyes and ears out there. Consider attending our next Police Community Relations Council Meeting and or becoming involved with the Towson Area Citizens on Patrol. These are two outstanding organizations, which help tremendously in our fight against crime.
Thank you all for caring so much about your neighborhood,
Jay
