Baltimore County Police say an 18-year-old was just a few blocks from his Hampton home when the car he was driving went off the road and struck a tree around 1:00 AM Sunday.

Stephen Robert Bogusky III, of the 700 block of Milldam Road in Towson, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the preliminary investigation shows that Bogusky was driving a white 2006 Volvo eastbound on Seminary Avenue near Aintree Road, toward his home, when the car left the roadway and hit several objects, including a tree. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Online records show a there is a Stephen Bogusky who graduated from Friends High School this year. He was a lacrosse player who had committed to attending Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee. However, it has not been confirmed that this is the same person involved in the accident.

Update: Stephen Bogusky did graduate from Friends. The school’s statement about his death is here.
