Police warn of jury duty scam in Towson

Baltimore County Police said today that residents in Towson have been receiving telephone messages from someone claiming to be “Sgt. Jackson” from the Baltimore County Sheriff’s Office. The message says the resident missed his/her jury duty date and must now pay a fine.

“This is a false message being sent, it is not coming from the Baltimore County Sheriff’s Office nor is it authorized by the Administrative Judge of the Baltimore County Circuit Court,” police said, adding that anyone who gets such a call should dial 911 so that officers can investigate.
