The driver of a junk-removal truck has been charged with 1st degree assault after, police say, surveillance video showed him stabbing another hauler at the Cockeysville Central Acceptance Facility on Monday afternoon. The stabbing stemmed from a disagreement about one truck cutting in front of another in line.
Police say the video shows two men arguing and then one of the drivers, Christopher Maurice Johnson, 35, of the 800 block of North Aisquith Street, punching the man in the face, beginning a physical fight. The passenger of the second truck, a 45-year-old man, ran to the assistance of his coworker, when Johnson stabbed him in the abdomen, police say.
The injured man was taken to Sinai Trauma Center and is expected to survive his injury. Johnson was charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault and “use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime.” He is being held without bail.
