An office specializing in helping people navigate the new landscape of medical marijuana in Maryland has opened in downtown Towson. The Cannadocs is located on Allegheny Avenue a few doors down from Souris’ Saloon.
The Cannadocs does not give patients prescriptions for medical marijuana. Instead, they act as a referral service so people who are interested in pursuing that line of treatment can find a doctor who is authorized to recommend it for patients. From time to time there may be a doctor on site at the Allegheny location, but for the most part appointments are held offsite at the providers’ offices.
The office also helps people register with the state, which is a requirement before medical cannabis can be obtained.
The fee to meet with a provider is $200. Patients do not pay the Cannadocs. Instead, The Cannadocs receives its payment from the providers.
The Cannadocs opened in January.
The Cannadocs is not a dispensary, although a dispensary at 101 E. Chesapeake Ave., AGG Wellness, was approved earlier this year, although it has not yet opened.
There is a dispensary on York Road just north of Seminary Avenue called Your Farmacy, and another one on York just south of Timonium Road called Curio Wellness.
Cannabis has been found to help patients who suffer from arthritis, PTSD, chronic pain, nausea from chemotherapy, and more.
Councilman David Marks, who represents Towson, said he hasn’t received any complaints about The Cannadocs.
“Should Cannadocs have probably introduced themselves to the community? Yes, and it would have probably eliminated some confusion,” he said. “But as long as the physicians administering the prescriptions are appropriately licensed, I don’t have a problem.”
I don’t understand why you are running an ad for this business in the middle of real news. Incidentally, I have found their illegal signs by the roadsides.
