Perry Hall Middle student arrested for school threat

A Perry Hall Middle School student has been arrested after making threats to harm others at his school, according to Baltimore County Police. An Instagram post indicated that the student planned to act on Monday morning, police said.

“Although preliminary investigation found that this threat was not credible, detectives were able to act quickly and identified the source as a student at Perry Hall Middle School,” police said in a statement. “The juvenile was arrested this evening and will be charged by police.”

Investigators believe that this is an isolated incident, police said, and there are no additional suspects involved or outstanding.

Councilman David Marks said police told him they will have “a strong presence” at the school throughout the week.

A similar incident happened at Perry Hall High earlier this month.
