Councilman David Marks, who has control over whether the Royal Farms project moves forward, will not be in attendance. He will be hosting a meeting that night about a Starbucks drive-through that is planned for the northwest corner of Regester Avenue and York Road in Rodgers Forge, which many residents oppose because of the added traffic it would bring.
I go through that intersection every time I got to St. Joseph’s or GBMC hospitals or from Immaculate Conception Church. Often. There is already a gas station on the corner across the street from the church. Why would anyone in government want to add huge truck traffic in this area when it will not bring in as much tax revenue as it would with less intrusive development? I smell a rat.
