Halloween fun around town

Here are some fun Halloween festivities for the whole family to enjoy:

The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival

17th Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival in the tradition of Día de los Muertos!
Saturday, October 29 (Rain Date: Oct 30)
Celebrate of life and new beginnings with Creative Alliance’s Artesanas Mexicanas! Learn the traditions of Día de los Muertos and altar making! Create new hand drum lanterns, and march in the parade with your community!
3:30pm | Festival
Lantern workshops, Day of the Dead altar making, hayrides, crafts vendors, food trucks, beer garden, live music, and Zumba!
4pm | Kids Costume Contest
5pm | Pop Up Costume Yoga
6:30pm | Parade Line-up

oregon ridgeTricks and Treats at Oregon Ridge
October 30th
Dress up in your best costume and stroll through the woods and meadow to learn the tricks plants and animals have up their “leaves”. Participants will get a treat at each stop, so bring a bag. Hike approx. 1/2 mile. $5 ($3M)

Belvedere Square’s Fifth Annual “Trick or Treat at the Square” on Sunday, October 30th, offers a fun-filled Halloween celebration for the young and young at heart. Among the treats for families: music by DJ Chris, a Thriller dance lesson and performance by The White Marsh Ballet Academy, surprises from Square merchants, food and drink specials, a costume contest (18 and under), pumpkin decorating (free while supply lasts), a new scary walkthrough, and more! Even pets are treated by Square neighbor Belvedere Veterinary Center and special guest appearance from the BARCS BFF Waggin. Ghosts and goblins welcome!

The event is open to the public and all activities are free, with the exception of the costume contest, which has a $5 entry fee. 100% of the proceeds from the contest will benefit the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS).

The Y in Central Maryland will host Happy Healthy Halloween at Family Center Ys onFriday, October 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will feature games, healthy snacks, crafts and more! Activities vary by location, so please contact the Y in Towson at 410-823-8870 for specific details. Space is limited, please register at your nearest Y Center at least 48 hours in advance. Free!
