Now that my kids are a bit older and off on their own a lot, I don’t make the short trek down to Ice Cream Corner as often as I used to. But we walked over as a family the other night and I was surprised to see that Fruitti Yummi was closed.
Well, not completely surprised. Do we have enough people to support Rita’s, Uncle Wiggly’s and Fruitti Yummi? I always felt a sense of betrayal when my kids picked Fruitti Yummi over Uncle Wiggly’s, too.
But now the decision is made for us. And it’s fun to see that Uncle Wiggly’s has spruced itself up. Even the bathroom has been redone; which I must say is a great change.
I haven’t been able to reach anyone to see what happened to Fruitti Yummi or get any hints of what might take its place. (Harry Little II?)
