Public schools in Maryland raising the bar for graduation

The state Board of Education voted yesterday to raise the test scores required to graduate from high school.

Liz Bowie at The Baltimore Sun reports:

“If the standard had been in effect last year, more than half of Baltimore County’s students would not have passed the math test and 35 percent would not have passed the English test.” Read the full story here.
