In reply to Anon. the greenhouses are circa 1940, very old and inefficient. They have to be heated in the winter to prevent glass breakage. They may contain asbestos or other hazardous materials requiring remediation. This is why the Radebaughs have moved their greenhouse operations to another property with more up-to-date facilities, thus making the property available for sale. It would be a wonderful use if practical, but the information seems to be that re-use is not a viable option.

Why not donate the existing green houses to a non profit in the county to remove and reuse for educational purposes. At their expense.

We have to have more public green space in the Towson area, and this seems like a great proposal. I hope that Kevin K isn’t so deep in the pockets of developers that this ends up being another housing or commercial development. Also, we have $17 million in unspent money for open space acquisition? I hope there are more plans like these in the works….
