At the urging of the Rodgers Forge board, the county has cleared most of the toys from the Tot Lot.
A resident came to the last board meeting and said he was concerned about all the junky toys at the Tot Lot. He said he called the county to complain and they referred him to the board, saying the county was working with the board on the issue. Board president Janice Moore told him to contact another board member, who was not at the meeting at the time, because she had heard other complaints and was working with the county on the issue.
The county had been concerned about this before and had moved all the toys from the mulched area because they were afraid that if a child fell from a swing or slide, the child would not land on mulch, as intended, but on a trike or other plastic or metal toy. Of course, many of the toys had slowly made their way back to the mulch area.
I just drove by and snapped some photos. I think it looks good. There seem to be enough toys to still make it fun but not so many that it looks like Sanford & Son.
